Redefining the Academic Stage: Our Innovative Formats

For the 6th Edition of the IWD Conference, we are evolving the scholarly forum to foster a more vibrant, interactive community. By moving beyond the traditional lecture format, we aim to transform passive listening into active, multidimensional dialogue through our two signature sessions:

  • Fireside Chats: Our keynote and main presentations take the form of moderated, curated conversations. By prioritizing direct dialogue over formal presentations, we bridge the gap between speaker and audience. This format centers on storytelling and spontaneous insight, allowing for a deeper exploration of complex themes than a slide deck ever could.
  • Flash Presentations: To spotlight the next generation of excellence, our young academics will deliver high-energy, high-impact „flash” sessions. These concise presentations challenge speakers to distill their research into its most compelling essence. For the IWD audience, this means a fast-paced, diverse overview of the field’s future, designed to spark immediate curiosity and networking.

These innovations are a hallmark of the 6th IWD Edition—designed to maximize knowledge retention, genuine connection, and inclusive participation across all career stages.
