Lára Jóhannsdóttir is a Professor within the Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Graduate Programme at the University of Iceland, situated at the Faculty of Business Administration. Lára Jóhannsdóttir was the academic director of the ENR Programme in 2019 and from 2022-2023 and was the first female Professor situated within the Faculty of Business Administration. Professor Lára Jóhannsdóttir’s research is broadly focused on corporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR), focusing on the role and responsibility of financial institutions such as insurance companies, responsible investment, environmental and climate change issues, and affairs Arctic. Prior to her academic career, Professor Lára Jóhannsdóttir worked within the Icelandic insurance sector for 14 years, and alongside her Ph.D. studies and early academic career, she was a board member of an Icelandic occupational pension fund for eight years.
